One phone judges the other
A device cannot judge its own sound honestly: a dull speaker and a dull microphone sound identical to themselves. That's why SmartCheck has two phones listen to each other — the second one acts as an independent referee.
- Create a session on the first phone (Tests ▸ New session). You'll get a six-digit code.
- Pair the second phone: enter the code there and tap Pair. The devices find each other through our server — they don't need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Start the test. Taking turns, one plays a tone and the other measures how loud and clean it arrives, in both directions.
- Read the verdict. Because every speaker was judged by a different microphone, you see right away which device (and which component) has the problem.
